About Me

My name is Julie Lang and I have been in education for 23 years.  The majority of those years have been split teaching both 3rd and 1st Grade.  I loved working with both of those groups of students, but this past year I made the leap back down to First where I started my career at Hilton Elementary 21 years ago.  I love to see the excitement in a young child's eyes when things just suddenly come together and they begin to think of themselves as readers, writers, scientists, and mathematicians. It's the reason why I chose to be a teacher in the first place and why I can't imagine doing anything else more rewarding.

I have been married for 22 years and have two teenage sons.  Also part of our family is our Golden Retriever named Jaxon, our two cats Katie and Alex, and last but not least my classroom pet of 20 years, Franklin the turtle.  When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, gardening, and visiting new places.
